Denmark belongs to the five Scandinavian nations in Europe’s historical Nordic areas.  With Denmark’s stable politics and effective environmental laws, it’s one of the most successful and highly rated Scandinavian country with Sweden and the rest following behind.  Denmark used to have complete sovereignty over the largest island in the world, Greenland.  Although Greenlanders recently voted to be independent from Denmark, the latter still has some influence over the region.  Among other things, the kingdom of Denmark and its people have enjoyed peaceful life and prosperity.

The culture in Denmark also has a rich historical background that dates back centuries ago.   Its political structure of today, which is the constitutional monarchy, remains pretty much unchanged since the kingdom was founded and named after King Dan.  Danish literature have also made its mark to the world.  A few of which are popular children’s stories like “Thumbelina” and “The Little Mermaid” by Hans Christian Andersen.

Health welfare in Denmark is linked to its environmental laws which by enacting rules that take care of their resources.  For instance, the Danish water system is one of the world’s most best ranked.  Water treatment has been one of Denmark’s environmental priorities and had setup several state of the art and effective water treatment facilities.  Wind mills-generating power also supply Denmark around four percent of its electrical needs.  Together with health and social benefits, Denmark is known to be the most livable and happiest place on earth.
